On December 3rd, the Farmington Hills Fire Fighters Association, Local 2659 of the International Association of Fire Fighters, presented a check for $6475 to the Great Lakes Burn Camp.

The Great Lakes Burn Camp was founded in 1995 and promotes healing, self-esteem and general well-being for children with burn injuries by creating opportunities for them to attend week-long winter and summer camps at no cost to their families.

This donation was made possible from the proceeds received from the Farmington Hills Fire Fighters Association’s 1st Annual Charity Ball held at Farmington Manor in late November and attended by 170 people.

“Our fire fighters have supported many charities over the years but the Great Lakes Burn Camp is one we’re particularly passionate about.” said John Kastran, president of the Farmington Hills Fire Fighters Association. “Knowing this money will allow 10 kids to have such a great experience is an indescribable feeling.”
