The City of Monroe is accepting applications for full-time Firefighter/Paramedic job vacancies. Successful applicants will be responsible for providing ALS emergency medical first response and effective fire suppression and prevention services. Minimum Qualifications: High School graduate with an Associate Degree (or equivalent combination of education & experience), a valid State of Michigan Vehicle Operator’s License and good driving record, Michigan Firefighter I & II certification, current State of Michigan Paramedic license, hazmat operations level certification, and documentation of having successfully completed a candidate physical agility test (CPAT) at time of conditional job offer. Residency within 20 miles of the City of Monroe’s boundaries is required within two years after employment. Excellent wage and benefit package. The 54th Biennial Convention of the Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union is going to be held on April 28-29-30, 2020 at the Amway Grand Plaza, Curio Collection by Hilton.
Convention committees will meet on April 27th. There will also be a welcome reception in the evening on April 27th. Anyone planning on attending this convention should make their hotel reservations as soon as possible. It is recommended that you arrive on April 27th and check-out on April 30th.
