The Charter Township of Redford and the Redford Township Police and Fire Civil Service Commission are accepting lateral transfer applications for the position of full-time Entry-Level Firefighter for the purpose of establishing an eligibility list.
A lateral transfer candidate shall transfer directly into the established wage scale, based on the number of prior years of service.
1 Year - $49,200
2 Years - $52,275
3 Years - $55,350
4 Years - $58,425
5+ Years - $63,038
A “year of service” is defined as a minimum of 2,808 hours worked as a fire medic.
Only completed applications including copies of the following will be considered:
ï‚· State of Michigan Firefighter I and II certification
ï‚· State of Michigan Paramedic Certification
ï‚· American Heart Association Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (BLS and
ï‚· Successful completion of Empco written examination (you must select Redford Township as a
municipality to receive your score) or Certificate for Conference of Western Wayne (CWW) Firefighter’s Testing Program Written and CPAT Certification.

The 54th Biennial Convention of the Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union is going to be held on April 28-29-30, 2020 at the Amway Grand Plaza, Curio Collection by Hilton.
Convention committees will meet on April 27th. There will also be a welcome reception in the evening on April 27th. Anyone planning on attending this convention should make their hotel reservations as soon as possible. It is recommended that you arrive on April 27th and check-out on April 30th.
